NFL Play-offs
Baltimore @ New England (1500)
New York Giants @ San Francisco (1830)
The New York Giants stunned reigning Super Bowl champions the Green Bay Packers in their NFC divisional play-off at Lambeau Field with a 37-20 victory. Eli Manning threw for 330 yards and three touchdown passes as the Giants defence buckled under pressure. It was the second time the Giants have defeated the Packers on home turf in four post-seasons. They defeated Green Bay at Lambeau in the NFC Championship game back in early 2008, before going on to defeat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII. The Giants now meet the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC title game on Sunday.
Alex Smith and Vernon Davis combined in the closing seconds to give the 49ers a play-off victory over the New Orleans Saints. In a dramatic finale, the lead changed hands four times with Smith finding Davis with a 14-yard touchdown pass that clinched the victory with just nine seconds left on the clock. The 49ers are making their first appearance in the play-offs for nine years.
The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Houston Texans 20-13 to advance to the AFC Championship game for the second time in four years. Despite setting up an early 17-3 lead they had to hold off a spirited Texans recovery. Baltimore now travel to Foxboro to take on the New England Patriots for the right to represent the division in the Super Bowl.
Tom Brady was the star as the New England Patriots secured a stunning 45-10 victory over the Denver Broncos. Brady threw five of his six touchdown passes in the first half with Rob Gronkowski pouching three touchdown catches and making 145 yards in the game. Brady’s six TD throws tied the record in a post-season game, while his career total of 36 in play-offs places him third in the all-time list.
Centrebet make New England favourites at $1.31 on the head to head with Baltimore paying $3.52. Baltimore are +7 on the line. San Francisco are $1.71 to beat New York who pay $2.16 on the head to head and are +2.5 on the line.
