My brother was aiming real high in High School and wanted to have a long sports career. He was very set on pursuing his dreams in Spain but wasn’t sure if he would be able to conquer some of the cultural differences. He went to Spain and learned the real strategies behind spanish soccer. Every day seemed to be a big challenge for him both culturally and professionally but he went on to win the world cup and out lasted his challenges. My mom was so proud of his accomplishments and flew in to Spain to spend some time with him.
He motivated the rest of our family to really think and pursue our own dreams without reservation. So many of our friends and family members always try to visualize dreams for us, rather then allowing each individuals preferences for themselves. I have learned such an important lesson from my brothers challenges, that I decided to start an organization that is geared towards helping teens pursue their dreams one step and a time. Judgement from those close to us is a detour, especially for those wanting a career in spanish soccer. Ok, so not everyone will end up like my brother, but we should always aim for the top.
